Since 1964 EWA has constructed facilities valued at more than $200 million. The task of repairing, replacing and monitoring the condition of these assets is the responsibility of the General Services Department.  This is achieved through the application of EWA’s Comprehensive Asset Management Plan (CAMP).

EWA has developed a CAMP for EWPCF facilities (E-CAMP) that is updated annually and one for remote reclamation and pumping facilities (R-CAMP) that is updated biennially.  Each CAMP tracks asset condition and evaluates needed improvements for the next five years based on the following criteria:
        Expected useful life and current condition, 
        Impact on plant capacity,
        Cost efficiency,
        Safety and working environment,
        Odor control, 
        Regulatory compliance, and 
        Energy efficiency.

The CAMPs are coordinated with the annual and long term budgeting process.  Detailed budgets are prepared for needs within a five year window, while more preliminary budgets are prepared for projected needs six to 25 years in the future.  Asset rehabilitation and replacement needs for the current fiscal year are developed into projects for which scopes, schedules and detailed budgets are prepared.
