EWA is committed to continuous improvement.  Through our strategic planning processes, we work to identify opportunities to make our operations more efficient and reliable, minimize our impact on the environment, and reduce costs.  This planning process has proven to be successful and EWA has been recognized locally and nationally for its accomplishments.  Despite the current economic challenges, EWA is proud to have reduced the overall budget for Fiscal Year 2011 while sustaining its high level of performance.

Operational Efficiencies

Energy Strategic Plan – EWA has developed a strategic plan for achieving its goal of becoming energy independent.  This plan identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiencies and technologies EWA will implement over the next five years. Biosolids Management Plan – EWA has developed a plan for distributing its biosolids pellets to diversified markets.  The goal of the plan is to ensure the organization has multiple options for handling its biosolids while minimizing associated costs. During FY2011, EWA generated about $40,000 in revenue from the sale of biosolids for use as a biofuel. Product testing is ongoing for use of the product as a fertilizer, which is a more lucrative market. Click here to read more.
